I promise that I will have a new, proper newsletter for you next week!
I wanted to pop into your inboxes to let you know about a couple of upcoming book events. These are the last events that I have booked until the fall.
(By the way, I am booking events for the fall! If you’re interested in inviting me to give a talk on any topic related to UP TO SPEED—women athletes, the gender data gap in sports science research, youth sports, staying active across the lifespan, the menstrual cycle and sports—or the craft of reporting and writing, please let me know!)
Boston!
Next week I’ll be in Boston for two events:
June 13, 7pm at Porter Square Books—Boston Edition: I’m so excited for this event. I’ll be in conversation with Mary Cain. Mary had a record-breaking professional running career and she is a champion for gender equity and athlete well-being. Her video op-ed in The New York Times was revolutionary. It shifted the way we think about women and sports and launched so many conversations about how the current systems of sports and science don’t always serve girls and women. The event is free but it’s helpful to RSVP for planning purposes. RSVP here.
June 16, 11:45am - 1pm at the Female Athlete Conference: The other reason I’ll be in Boston is to attend the Female Athlete Conference. The agenda is a virtual who’s who in the world of female athlete health and sports performance. The best part of the conference is that proceeds go to fund more research on women. You can still register for the in-person event or the virtual option. For those attending in-person, I’ll be in the exhibitor’s hall on Friday selling and signing books alongside Molly Huddle, who will also be there with her book HOW SHE DID IT.
Los Angeles!
July 13, time TBD at Run With Us in Pasadena: OK, so technically the event is in Pasadena but I’m so excited to join the running community in the LA area to chat, answer questions, and hang out. More details to come!
Please share with friends and colleagues in the area who might be interested!
Will I see you there? Please let me know!
If you can’t make it and you’d like a signed bookplate, just let me know. I’m happy to send one to you.
Thanks for being here. More soon.
