Protecting athlete health and performance: 6 things you need to know about the new International Olympic Committee consensus statement on Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (REDs)
I’m always curious about the implications here for post-menopausal athletes (and hopeful that we are part of the research) -- look forward to next week’s post!
Thank you so much for this article, RED-s is such a big issue, especially in endurance and aesthetic sports. As a runner and sufferer myself I have found the recovery experience pretty confusing and isolating especially if you're hesitant to share everything publicly (like me) or find traditional support options expensive. I’ve recently set up a Discord community https://discord.gg/HWFUjBgGx2 for athletes dealing with RED-S (Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport). The group is a space to share experiences, recovery tips, and offer mutual support. If anyone is interested in joining or want to spread the word, feel free to check it out
